WhY Start This?
I've thought about starting this site for a while now, and honestly, part of what's kept me from doing it is the same thing that probably keeps most people from being honest online: I don't have it all figured out.
I'm not writing this as someone who's arrived. I'm writing it as a husband, a father, and a pastor who's still very much in process.
When I think about what I actually know, I realize it's never as much as I think it is. Sure, there are plenty of things I've learned and gleaned over my 45 years of life. But the truth is, life is always changing — and as things change, I've come to realize that I need to change too. I need to keep growing in my understanding of each season of life, and in how to navigate it with wisdom.
For me, the areas of faith, family, and fatherhood are of the utmost importance, because they're the areas that matter most. If I stay the same in my faith, in how I lead my family, and in how I operate as a father, then two things happen: I rob myself of the joy of growth, and I rob the people I lead of the best version of who I could become.
That's what this site is about. Not perfection. Not a five-step formula. Just an honest, ongoing attempt to grow in the three areas that shape everything else. If my relationship with God is shallow, everything downstream of it struggles. If I'm not present and intentional at home, no amount of success anywhere else fills that gap. And fatherhood specifically — the way I show up for my kids — is one of the clearest mirrors I have for whether I'm actually becoming who I say I want to be.
What you'll find here
Over time, this is going to fill up with different kinds of content, but for now two main things…
A blog where I'll process what I'm learning in real time, including the stuff that doesn't have a neat bow on it yet.
Free guides on specific topics, for whenever you need something practical to work through rather than just something to read.
Why it matters to me that you're here
I don't think growth happens well in isolation. I think it happens in community — even a small, imperfect one built around a blog and some shared honesty. So if you're here because you're wrestling with your own faith, trying to figure out how to lead your family better, or just trying to be the kind of dad your kids actually need — I'm glad you're here. Not because I've got the answers, but because I'm working through the same questions.
This is the start of building a place of vulnerability and value. My goal is to keep growing and to help others grow!
